Many seem to be missing that in many areas, the grain is bagged in the field (no trucking) then hauled directly to end user at a later date.

With a bin it's hauled from the field to the bin during harvest, then from the bin to the end user.

In the situation described above, a bagger clearly does reduce trucking.

As long as you bag it in the field, even if you do haul it to your dryer later, it at least eleminates trucking during the time of year when trucks are most expensive. Here trucks are at least twice as expensive to hire during harvest and more likely 3 times as expensive.


Again I'm in the wrong spot. If I told a customer his trucking rate for out of the field would be double or triple over winter time hauling I would get a big FU from everyone of them.
