| I’d say some depends on your end user. Most of my corn goes to an ethanol plant that takes wet corn anytime and also pays on a 15.5% bushel. Hauling 17-20% home and drying it to 15 or less, especially if that involves a few miles of deadheading in the wrong direction from the eventual delivery point, would be at best lots more work for little gain.
Now obviously for corn intended to be stored into the summer time frame, a different approach is needed. One thing I know for sure though, it’s better to speed up harvest and have a bag of corn in a snowdrift than to have standing corn in a snowdrift. | |
