10-12 CEC dirt. Old guys say we have heavy dirt...lots of red clay, .5 inch rain will make everything slime on top. also washes easy and leaves course sand where ever water washes and sits. Low areas have 2 feet of black dirt then yellow clay. Water just sits there.
Lots of hills here, plans are to tile up the gut on all low areas and maybe do laterals up the hills later. So sock or no sock?
