Personally, I've always thought if the CCE is above 90, why mess w/adjusting? I personally doubt the 90% accuracy of spreader trucks trying to dump 2000-6000# of material in 144,000 sq ft anyway. Could be wrong though. Also, the rate recommendation is often highly rounded up/down.

But-I could be wrong.



Ron, I don't disagree with your practice of not adjusting if CCE is above 90. However, I didn't read the original question that way. I tried to explain how to figure out how much to apply based on soil test recommendation (and he said the soil test was based on 100 CCE).
The real concern would be if the lime was only 70 CCE - then an adjustment is definitely in order.

I find it interesting that a field with a pH of 5.8 has a lime recommendation of only 1 T/ac lime. I would have expected more. It must be a light, sandy soil (?).
