I have no experience with what you're discussing, but networking is right up my alley.
Bluetooth gets funky on it's own. Drops connections, pauses, etc.
WHAT IF... you had a separate router in the tractor which you use your hot-spot as the gateway. Then, leave the wifi on the router wide open (unsecured) so your data can join in the fun.
