Boone, Iowa | Make sure there are no restrictions from air filter to the turbo and turbo to the intake manifold. As others suggested, collapsing hose or bad intercooler boots. Pull off the hose at the turbo, look at the intake wheel and spin the turbo. Since you are getting black smoke, you are getting fuel, just not enough air. If that all checks out ok, may need to plug and pressurize the intercooler. You could put a cheap boost gauge on temporarily and see what you are getting for boost. Should be a plug on intake manifold for a fitting. Also, wastegate on turbo could be bad. | |
