Northwest IOWA
We often dont run the Spreader on the 1st half of our stir auger bin , we flip spreader on & off several times each load .Otherwise we end up w a hollow spot in the middle of bin with high volume of M.O.G.( cob ,bees wings, pieces of leaves) ....Iv learned from reading posts here, to not overfill the stir auger bin if the corn is above 18 % ,and have Stir Machine running when corn is about 6 ft deep, We have only 1 stir auger bin , Glad I dont have more, The Spreader in the bin is electric powered, and We fill bin off a Leg at 4000 bu hr. The Stir machine will level the bin within 12 hrs usually. 30 MFS bin , 2 Auger DMC. Also we put in 6 or 7 semi loads to start with, Get that heated up , then add another load of similar moisture or dryer corn if possible, In the off season ,we try to kick on the Stir Machine once a month,Whether bin is half full or MT , to "excersize " the motors n bearings n belts... Have a safe harvest.
