It must be a bad connection on the circuit board inside of the epoxy case. I plugged it in again today and it worked for a little bit and then stopped. I flexed the case a little bit by pushing it against the frame of the drill that it is on and got it working again. Not sure how long it will last through.


Sounds like an excellent analysis. It may last a long time if you have a spare on hand. I've done that in other situations where I'm certain the current item is going to fail so I have a spare on hand and the suspect item then lasts a long time. I have a friend who goes a bit overboard on that idea and carries lots of spare parts. He argues that if having a spare on hand causes the original not to fail that it is worth it. I don't go quite that far.
