Kurt, saving 20% of poverty level wage is next to impossible.
And we wonder why so many head to the welfare line.
What poverty level wage? Sears people made great wages at one time, and negotiated big pensions. That’s what’s breaking the company.
I went to the funeral of a Sears pensioner. He was in mid level management and retired in his 50’s. I remember looking at pictures and hearing stories at his funeral of all the things he did in his 25+ years of retirement and thinking how absurd it was that he could afford that. I should have gone home and shorted Sears stock, it was obvious that the company was going to die under the weight of their retirees.
