WC MN & Valley of the Sun, AZ | Personally have experience taking time off from the corporate gig to spend 4 weeks per year split between spring and fall. Big factors that enable success of the farm is someone else is managing off season maintenance, spraying, etc.
The four weeks may seem adequate for 80 acres but if you're the lone gunman to ensure everything is ready to go, concerned you will need to very effeciently plan your time. Flexibility of time off, with sometimes by the hour notice to align with weather, is also a big factor for success. Mother nature will throw the biggest wrench into plans.
Edit - if I were in your shoes, would find the nicest, newest 8 row pull-type Cyclo planter that budget would allow. Dump seed in the big ol' hopper, drop it in the ground and go.
