s.e. Pa | I dunno. 1755 could handle that no problem, but a 543 planter is not going to work. I think you will loose enough in yield using that planter to pay for it custom done. Are you going to do the spraying? I think 1755 with good, modernized 6rn John Deere 7000 planter, and decent 300 gallon sprayer could get the crop (corn and beans) in and grown. If no till works in your area, I’d certainly consider it, before I tried to work 80 acres with that tractor. Most older field cultivators or discs are not going to be one pass, and are not going to handle much trash.
The money is something to think about. As others have said, growing 80 acres of corn is going to cost $25,000 without any rent, labor, or machinery. | |
