Subject: RE: Fastenal disappointment

Near-north Ontario, French River
Our local Fastenal has been 'account only" for a couple years now, but there's no minimum spend required. I think they got tired of joe homeowner coming in and opening up a 100 pack of nuts etc, and only buying 2. We generally only "buy one offs" of the larger sized bolts, for example a 1'x10" gr 8 , if we are working on a project. If we are restocking the bolt bins we just grab multiple bags of all the different common sizes. I will say we've been moving away from fastenal for our hardware needs, not because of pricing but because it seems they aren't carrying the inventory they used to. Seems more and more, when we go to restock the bins that they don't have many of even the common sizes in stock. You'd think a fastener place would have more than 1 bag of 3/8 nuts in stock without the need to order next day. I suspect online shopping has been hitting them hard
