Subject: NH 790 chopper head clutch

Cullom, Illinois
My 790 has a problem. At startup, the metalert alarm will sound and the head will stop. Reverse the head, switch to forward, and it will work all the way through the field. Stop at end to switch wagons and it’s the same thing at start up. It may do it once or it may do it a couple times. You can hear the relay in the switch box disconnect when it happens. But the head will start right back up. Recently had the bearing inside the electric clutch go bad. Problems started so after. I’m blaming the electric clutch. Anyone have advice?
