Subject: RE: 20/20 air force

Nebraska

For AirForce to run automatically it has to see the planter lowered, be enabled in the AirForce control page, sees data from the load pins/cells, and sees ground speed.  It can only see if the planter is lowered by hooking a lift switch to a RUM (row unit module) and the down force can only be read by the rows that have a RUM on them.  In most cases, the standard caseIH harness doesn't use 3 wire DickeyJohn style sensors so the a whole planter harness and new 3 wire sensors have to be purchased in order to make the Case planter work with AirForce as well as RUMs and load cells made for CaseIH from Precision Planting.  If it's a 12x5 series it's a little easier to do but still not "plug and play" per se.

It's a worthy investment (dynamic downforce control that is) but it's not easy to accomplish with a Case planter like it would be with a Deere planter or anything else that has a 37 pin seed sensor harness connection.

BTW, a fold box for a 12 row Case planter will hook up and run a 16 or a 24 row just fine so you can move away from the Pro 700 if you please.
