Exactly.

I've raised meat chickens the past 3 years. That's a lot of good meat to lose if the power goes down like it has/will in the Carolinas.

Been about 10 years ago now, but our power was out for 4 days when the remnants of Ivan (I think it was) blew through. The only way I didn't lose the freezer contents was by running an extension cord 75 feet, give or take, between my house and the neighbors who had electricity because their service came from a different line.
