SEIA | Fendt Ideal is separate contract from Fendt Tractors. Dealers who are already Fendt will have the easiest time picking up the contract. However, in IA the strong Fendt tractor dealers already have Gleaner and do decent with it-so probably less incentive to bring in Ideal. From what I've been told, it isn't cheap to just "add" the contract--lots of training and dealer investment. I think you'll see some larger dealers take on Ideal and other dealers follow behind over the next couple of years as they watch to see how combine performs. This whole process will take 2-4 years.
AGCO has spent a lot of $$$$ developing this combine as well as the Gleaner platform. They have said (for quite some time now) there will be two worldwide platforms of combines (Gleaner being one, Ideal being the other). The current MF combines will stay around and continue to be developed depending on how Ideal performs.
AGCO says the Ideal is "new from ground up". There may be a lot of "new" things on the combine, but there's a lot of things on the Ideal that have been getting tested in other platforms for quite some time. (Examples: Twin Rotor=European Delta, parts of cleaning system=MF rotary, electronics=Fendt). Give the Ideal a couple of years, it'll be interesting to see what happens.
