Subject: Testing a Hydraulic Steering Valve

Does anyone have a slick way to test a hydraulic steering valve on a 580 STX? I've checked all the electronics and it seems like they are in order but the tractor is wandering badly and the steering will occasionally get violent when turning and slap your head off of the side windows.
