Northern Illinois | I am having internet issues and want to attempt to isolate the problem. Internet service has come out and said things are fine to the dish. They do not do routers but suggested that might be the problem. I have wired internet with a cable from the router to the computer. Wife has a wireless laptop and all our cell phones get the wifi wirelessly. To check to see if the router is the problem can I take the internet cable that goes into the router and plug it into my computer? Or are there safety components in the router that I do not want to bypass?
