Subject: be sure to do your own seed count on wheat

Prairie Home MO
I planted some Truman wheat for a neighbor yesterday and the seed count was not on big bag but was 11,500 on little bags. I adjusted drill for bigger seed and noticed was getting way to much on. When I got done I took a sample from big bag to elevator and weighed out 7gr and did the math and got 13440 seeds per lb.. This bothered me so took a sample of the little bag in and checked it. 13918. My target rate at 11,500 was 122 lb,, If the seed count would have been right I would have shot for 104 lb. Instead I got on way to much and the seed house sold me 15% more seed than I needed. Buyer beware. Robert
