With the USDA saying 207 maybe I was expecting to much, but I wasn't impressed. How much of the corn is being pushed to fast, versus what a normal year would look like. I have never really been through the state this late in the year. Got on 39 south of Rockford, changed over to 74 in Bloomington and then went 57 to 24. Pretty uneven to start and then the dryness started to show I believe. I was surprised the area from Bloomington to Champaign wasn't a bit better. It does improve as you get south on 57. Some of it looks bad just judging by color. Is this dryness, lack of nitrogen or what? Who did I drive by? Combines will tell the story but 207 might be a bit optimistic!
