Beresford, SD | This farm yielded .8 bushels an acre in 2012. Looks to produce the best yield ever this year. It is my honey piece next to feed yard. Planted April 27th to DKC 64-34 at 32k. (Normal maturity for our area is 102-110). Ran yearlings on the field last fall then inline ripped, field finished then planted this spring. Sprayed triple flex and 36 oz. of Rup at 4 leaf stage. Only N was applied as field is hot from years of manure, 160 units pre plant, 60 units top dressed...all urea. Sprayed bug dope, Foliar and triviapro by air just at brown silk. Was grazed out rye double crop beans last year. 20x40 ave ear at 31,700 stand. Plan to chop for silage around Labor Day. Maybe a crop to tell my grandkids about.
