Central Wi | I worked for Lakeside from 04 until 12. Reedsburg location. Most of the crops were in the Grand Marsh and Central Sands area. First 2 years it was peas then sweetcorn. In 06 they quit harvesting peas and got into green beans. I ran dump cart most of the time. Beans were boring. Corn was fast paced and pretty fun. 70 to 80 hour weeks got old. Last 2 years I drove around pulling samples and helped jockey machinery and helped with some repairing and parts runs. Great group of guys out of the reedsburg plant but a few years ago they pulled the plug on the corn. Most of the help moved on besides the fulltime guys. They only run the freezer there now for some peas and limas shipped up from the south. Then green beans. Possibly some carrots too. | |
