Apparently you can still do that in IL. I think the Section 105 deal changed a lot but I have a small self-employed group of 1 + my spouse. The rates are about the same as the exchange but the coverage is superior, on a relative basis.
I had to send them a schedule F because the government auditors come in and check that the business groups are legitimate businesses.
