Subject: Knock yourself out.

According to ( https://www.afdc.energy.gov/uploads/publication/Argonne_Butanol_Paper.pdf )

The ABE method yields.. only 1.495 gallons of Butanol.

TABLE 4 Yields of Acetone, Butanol, and Ethanol from Bio-Butanol Plant
Product Yield (gal/bu corn) Energy (Btu/bu corn) Energy Output Share (%)
      Acetone        0.868                  69,525                           31.4
       Butanol        1.495                149,267                           67.4
       Ethanol        0.037                    2,828                             1.2
            Total        2.4                    221,621                         100

So your getting about 1.495 gallons of bio butanol per bushel of corn.  Assuming you can make Jet Fuel out of the Nail Polish.. Acetone... maybe??

So you can pump it through a pipeline.. big deal.

Gevo has been working on this for awhile now.. maybe there's some nich markets for it.. plenty of smaller ethanol plants out there a person could sock the $$$ into to try it.. knock yourself out if ya think ya got a nich.

However, you'd get better fuel economy with higher blends of ethanol..like e-15 and e-30 seems like blender pumps would be a better investment (to me) but ???  whatever.

ICM is going to be over 3.1 gallons of ethanol (more than double the ABE derived Butanol) on the plant they are building at Colwich.  Plus higher protein DDG's

How are you going to compete vs that?

At $65 Crude and $3.65 Corn.. Crude can't even compete with that.. which is why Petroleum interests own the EPA.
