| Yikes, for 1 man that is a lot but that would have been nothing for a crew of 4. Last time we put up square bales we probably did 400-500 bales in an afternoon. Had a man running the tractor and 2 on the rack, had a guy unloading the rack onto the elevator to the hay loft in the barn and had 1 guy tossing the bales to me while I stacked them. Makes much easier work when you can basically make it an "assembly line" operation. I've been the hired help and stacked every bale on the rack as it came off the baler and unloaded and stacked it with the guy running the baler too. Always seemed to be the hottest day of the year too but I don't regret it one bit as a bad day at the office now is nothing compared to the work I did growing up that instilled the work ethic I have. | |
