Seed treatment is on my to due list for next year. What is the cost per acre or bag for treatment?
It will vary from company to company but I believe iLevo is in the 8-15$ range. Not sure what a typical fungicide and insecticide treatment runs. The company I sell for treats everything at the plant so i have never seen a break out of the actual cost it adds.
From what I experienced in 2016, I could go close to a decade without it paying and still be ahead. But even without visual symptoms we typically see 1-2bu from iLevo. Gains that small are hard to track but I am confident that it at least pays for itself every year. And in those bad years it can pay big dividends. |
