Guys have been complaining about all types of openers on here not just shoup. All manufactures have gone to cheap china bearings even deere. Seems to be a real issue these days. Maybe we can make bearings great again? MBGA!
It's not just Chinese bearings. I know guys that have gone out of their way to buy blades with USA made bearings, and had no better luck. You can't just look at a bearing, see a USA marking, and assume it's a quality bearing. While this is just a theory I can't prove, I've been wondering if US bearing manufacturers haven't cut enough corners to compete with the price point of the Chinese product that they might actually have reduced quality to at or below the Chinese offering.
I get my blades locally, because if/when I have a problem with blades, I want to carry it right in the door and be face to face with the person who's gonna stand behind the product. At least until the day comes when they don't. Then I'll order on the internet. |
