ne nebraska | I ordered a bunch for my 24 row from shoup last spring. The deere parts guy told me to watch them, make sure they run true. So I got my shoup blades, put a 5/8" bolt in a vise, bolted the blade to it, and spun it. Probably a 1/8" of wobble on one blade, other blade was straight. I thought "shoot, now i know what he is talking about." So I buy two deere branded blades to test. Spin first one, straight as can be, spin second one, same exact 1/8" or so wobble. That pretty much made my decision right there. Not that I will buy shoup every time, but I won't shy away from them either. I checked the bearings, both blades used the exact same bearing, same part number and all. I ran them this past season, 3000ish acres on a 24 row, and did not have one bearing go out. So for me, if I miss a sale on the deere stuff(which usually gets them pretty close), I won't be all that disappointed and wont bother me to order from shoup again. | |
