Subject: Microsoft Managed Desktop?

Okay, it's a poorly-kept secret that I am not a fan of the Windows 10 roll-out. The upgrade from earlier versions often led to instability and many users didn't realize they were upgrading until it had already happened. After that -- and to this day -- we keep hearing how updates screw things up. Quick Books works. Update. Now it doesn't work. Update. Guess now it works again. And Microsoft does all they can to keep pushing updates to your machine. What could be more irritating?

How about paying a monthly charge to Microsoft for the privilege of using Windows 10? I am serious.

It's called DaaS, or desktop as a service and is clearly the direction Microsoft is headed. When they began referring to W10 as a service, they meant it. Upgrades were free. Users of the horrible 8.0 and the almost-as-horrible 8.1 were only too happy to clutch at that straw. It was almost...too good to be true.

Business customers will likely be affected first but I can see MMD in everyone's future, so long as you really need Windows compatibility.
