By default on my Android phone pictures go on the web.

He doesn't know where his pictures go.  

He can see them on his iPad but where do they exist?  Is there a default location?  Does apple automatically put them in the cloud, do you get a subscription automatically with the purchase of an iPad?  

I know what you can do once you have the pictures, but where are they now and how does he get them so he can store them on and external device?
