This recipe does about a gallon
4cups sugar
4cups vinegar
1/2 cup canning salt
1-1/3 tsp turmeric
1-1/3 mustard seed
1-1/3 celery seed
3 small-medium onions-sliced
Cucumbers- I like mine sliced thin, and prefer smaller cucumbers for this.

Mix all your ingredients ( my wife uses a large sauce pan) have previously placed sliced cucumbers and onions in gallon glass container ( about 2/3rds full) pour in pickling mixture, and give it a few shakes to get everything mixed up, add more sliced cucumbers if need to fill container up. Place container in refrigerator.

Let set for at least 5 days before eating, I like to give the container a good shake everyday for the first 5 days. In a sealed container like I have they will store up to 9 months i’m told (i’ve always have eaten them long before that time).
