Subject: Mapping Fields on Budget

Eastern ON
Well my time using dronedeploy is up. DJI hates keeping older drones updated so my Phantom 3 standard is kinda abandoned. Dronedeploy then officially stopped listing it as compatible a few months ago and now the app will not work with it at all. I looked into to using Litchi app but it doesn't seem to be easy setting it to take pictures at the proper intervals and altitudes. Stumbled across Pix4d, they support a bunch of drones even Parrots. Put it up and ran a mission, all went well. Best part is they let you download the stitching software and do it yourself rather than uploading and waiting for results. There is an ag specific program, Pix4Dfields. Only problem so far is they will not let you plan missions ahead of time on your desktop, everything has to be done out in the field on your tablet or phone when you run the mission.
