I truly love the way my mother fixed okra on top of the stove with cornmeal and finished it off in the oven. I have yet to get it down right and she can no longer remember how she cooked it. So the next best thing I have found is to microwave it. I just wash it off and sprinkle some salt and pepper on about 15 or 20 small whole pieces and microwave it for about 2 minutes. You will have to adjust your time to fit the size of your microwave. This okra is not slimy like boiled okra and taste delicious. |
