Subject: Most cost efficient way to get autosteer on IH 1066

Central/Northeast Missouri
Hey fellow AgTalkers,

I have a 1974 IH 1066 2wd (my first tractor! I am a first-gen 20 year old wanna-be farmer;) It has a year-a-around cab on it. The main reason I'm looking to get auto steer is so I can plant cover crops in strips and then come back in and plant 30" twin row beans between the rye strips with my 6 row IH 800 cyclo planter. Has anyone ever rigged something up fairly cheap while also reliable? How hard would it be to get an ez-steer system in or are those becoming obsolete? Does not have to be RTK by any means but would be nice to plant beans between 12-15" inch rye strips. I started with 6 acres last year and have worked my way up to 120, hopefully next year I can find a few more acres as well.

Thanks guys!

Gavin
