"Can" do it doesn't mean you should do it. Had a customer around here that put a bunch of money in a 8770 JD 4x4 and I doubt it was ever worth it. When tractor went to auction it came off and was sold separately. The hydraulics on the old JD tractors just don't lend well to accurate integrated steering. Too much variance in hyd oil temperatures causes calibrations to only work in temp range they were calibrated for. This is my opinion, based on my experiences, on why it should not be done.
