| What cover crops/seed types can I plant with my planter and what are the sprocket/drive/vac settings for them?
I purchased my first planter (2nd season farming, 1st generation) this spring and am still learning but only have the book to go off of. It's a john deere 7300 6r30 max emerge 2.
I want to plant cover crops with it after winter wheat and silage. Some on fields that will get grazed and some on fields that won't get grazed depending on my nrcs EQUIP contract. I have the old vac meters with small corn, corn, soybean, sugar beet, and sorghum plates. I also have the precision planting vset 2 meters with corn and soybean kits.
I know they offer kits for wheat, edible beans, beets, milo, sorghum etc. for the vset 2 meters but would prefer not going to buy them if I don't have to. I would also like to plant field once with one crop, split those rows with a second crop, and possibly again with a 3rd crop to have a mix. They are 10-20 acres apiece. Any info would be great.
