Subject: Sept/Fall 2018 corn basis question

Fontanelle, IA
IF our above normal temps continue AND push the corn to the finish line, do you anticipate your local, early fall basis to widen a little more than normal also (and by how much based upon your experience) and a little earlier than normal while the coops and farmers clean bins out to make room for Harvest18? could we make our harvest lows (both cash and futures prices) in middle September instead of October? Any analog years?

I'm thinking that basis widens a $.05 or $.10. Our "local" wind / brittlesnap event will probably push many of us into corn before we cut any beans due to goosenecking/tangled mess currently (and curiosity to see if corn is better or worse than we thought).

Thanks all!
Bart
