What kind of fertilizer is in wood ashes?

I appreciate all the responses, I wonder how much potash I would have to put out to get the rest of the grass to grow like that? Took a soil test and they said 90# of potash at planting time and I did but I guess that wasn't enough. I guess that I need to do what Hay Wilson says he does and put out I think a ton to the acre? and that would last for the life of the alfalfa but this bermuda grass keeps growing as long as it is taken care of. I am going to have to experiment with that and just see. Thanks
