You asked for suggestions and I certainly didn't say spend 5K. This a solid, basic system with upside potential, which is what you requested. Two years ago, we watched for pieces on AgTalk and eBay that matched a Trimble cabling diagram. Eventually spent less than 3K on a WAAS FMX, EZSteer and Field IQ cab kit. Now run it on RangePoint RTX for $350/year and eliminated using markers 95%.

Since then we've found a used seed monitoring, section only and two Rawson modules with all connecting cables on AgTalk for $680 shipped. Resold a Rawson module locally and kept the other for future use. Just resold the EZSteer this spring to a fellow AgTalk member at a reasonable price to upgrade to EZPilot.

So we have a display that captures planting data including some meter performance, section control for half width clutches and pop up pump, the option to add VRD to the planter and a steering system that can be moved to another tractor in the future.

Hope this is more useful info. Good luck.
