This ladies computer simply won't update to 1803.  I downloaded the update and it goes so far then stops.  I've rebooted and it returns to 1607.  Checking for updates it says your computer is up to date.

I've tried several times.  Zilch. Nada.

I uninstalled AVG.  I've turned off or disabled everything I can find that might cause a problem.  I've run system tools to check the HD and it has about 750GB of space.  I ran Defender and scanned for any virus.  

I hate to give it back to her and say it runs, leave it alone.  But that's where I'm headed.

Any site that purports a fix always talks about upgrading from Windows 7 rather that updating.  Microsoft is no help as it's links go to the same things I find on my own.
