You would be better off having the pump hyd. driven and use the rate controller to control the RPM of the pump!
That is the quickest most accurate way to do vrt. You will be fraction of a second lag from target rate to applied rate even at very large rate changes.
The reverse ball valve method is a good entry level step into vrt. Its cheap and easy to do. Often beginners dont do big rate changes so you get by fairly well. At lower rates and rate changes you might see 1-3 second lag times. At larger rates up to 4-5seconds which not very good at all.
Usually when you step up to pwn pumps and larger volumes, it also requires replumbing with larger diameter fittings and hoses |
