West Union, Illinois | We put one of those at Mom's. Her Frontier line was noisy to the point of being unusable and they couldn't seem to get it fixed. We unhooked her house wiring at the demark (the box outside the house where responsibility switches from the phone co to you) and put one of those on a shelf in the living room. Simply plugged it in to the house wiring and she had service.
We transported the phone number so to anyone calling or using her phone it's just like the landline. Since we do not have voice mail set up for it, if you call it rings like nobody is answering. If her answering machine picks up you know she is gone. If it rings and rings she's on the phone.
