It seems like recently dairy supply control is being pushed more and more. In my opinion, this doesn't stand a chance of being implemented in the US, but what are everybody else's thoughts?
FWIW, processors are partnering with large dairies to control their own supply chain and paying them on a cost-plus agreement. This is basically the same thing as the Canadian system, only difference being the small guys are the ones who stand to lose with this.
Small dairies are not the ones to lose in every case, in the coop where our milk goes the supply control program does not apply to dairies producing under 2M pounds a year |
