Dad and I had one full time hired hand worked for nearly 30 years.
At times we would have several part timers.
The secret? Give him plenty of time off.
We furnished house, propane, water, beef, fuel and bonus money. If you take care of them, they will take care if you.
Let’s look at it this way. I understand that farming is a full time job. But lets say if I worked you 7 days a week. Same grind and rut. It will burn you out. There is more to life than just working for a paycheck. Their is a family life raising families.
Maybe try keeping two crews? Let guys work so many hours or days and keep it in rotation?
I understand cows has to be fed daily.
