I have the same problem when using EZ Guide Plus and PF Advantage. I need to turn off the area switch whenever I reset guidance or I lose my map. Don't forget to turn the area switch back on.
This may of may not be your problem. Someone here helped me solve my lost map, but I can't find the conversation in the back pages.
