Just a guess that your print heads are stopped up.  That is why I quit using inkjet printers and went to laser printers.  Staples has a Dell color laser for $85 or a Brother black and white laser for $99 or less.  The Brother also functions as a copier and can print on both sides of the paper( one of my favorite options).
