Subject: RE: Challenges with Soil Sampling?

WC MN

I sample every other year in beans and sugarbeets for the next year corn crop 6" cores for P & K.  I shoot for around the first week of June.  I am unaware of others that do their own sampling in this area.  I do see value in being able to go back within a few inches of previous cores, but for now I just zone sample knowing at least my cores are separated by my zones.  It would be a wild guess on how close I am to my previous cores.  I drive the entire field in swaths, usually catching the different zones and punch cores in each zone when I pass through. Since I know the fields pretty good I bet I'm not too far off from previous cores either.
