Goosepilot, please answer any of the other questions I posted in response to the other guys. I love the input.

Regarding core depth accuracy, do you believe that getting your probe 8" in the ground is the only thing that has to be controlled? Or do you think that each core should be inspected to verify no soil got compressed, a portion fell out the bottom, or drug a large piece of residue into the probe? If you think those are common issues with a probe, do you think modern automatic probes are actually helping accuracy or are they just making the job easier and faster?

Why do you think Independents sample for other farmers? Did it start because they could be trusted more than other larger coops / farm service providers?
