No help but I had a 4720 for a while. I bought it used from a local Deere dealer. I didn't have auto steer on it but have auto steer on three tractors. My 4720 was very difficult to drive manually and I finally got rid of it since I felt I ran over too much crop (all in rows). I tried various things such as front end weights, replacing the suspension pins and bushings etc.
The way mine drove manually I don't think auto steer would work very well. I had an Insight with the Trimble Nav II in my 8120 ILS tractor and it worked very well. I'm betting its the sprayer that is the problem. They are notorious for steering problems in my area. Lots of neighbors who are "all green" will have a Hagie, Miller or C-IH SP sprayer.
