What year is your 3500? If it's 2013 or newer, it has the dual boot sensors that will work with advanced seed tube monitoring. Your KPMIII can also read singulation on the correct firmware. That said I run mine with an InCommand 1200, never tried it on the KPMIII. Mine is a 2009 so I had to change the sensors but I converted mine to ISO. If I had it to do all over again, I'd just have put a new harness on it with a STMM from Ag Leader and been done. I've done that on numerous 3600's and they work great. I also have my meters rebuilt with PP parts, the adjustable brush is handy but seeing the singulation information real time allows you to make the necessary changes. Sometimes it's as simple as ground speed, especially with flats. Any questions, let me know.
